Horrible Leasing Manager with Ridiculous Company Policy

Have very bad experience with this property. Leasing Manager asked for $15,000 balance on my bank statement for a $830/month apartment so they feel safe enough to rent the apartment to me for a 6 month period. After I showed enough balance, they raise the requirment to $30,000. When I offered to pay the full 6 months rent upfront, they then said they can not take it. I would be amazed to see if any of their residents would be able to show this ridiculous amount of balance in the saving account. Horrible communication with customers and ridiculous requirements. Totally not considering customers' feeling and they are the worst company I have ever seen.
Will try to file compaint to local government and will find a way to sue the company of making crazy policies and wasting my time. Will never recommend this property to anyone.

Wow I've had a pleasant experience here, but I can't believe they did that! That's pretty absurd on their part.

I would be amazed to see if your friend or you actually showed $60,000 for one year lease or $30,000 or 6 month lease. As far as I know, most americans would not want to put so much cash in the saving account.
And why do I need a paid job if I have enough money to use. If you want to make sure I can pay the rent, then why when I offer to pay full amount, you can't take it. 6 times total rent of all leasing period just don't make any sense. Why do I need you to make sure I have money to use when I paid you full. These policies just contridict and if someone want to waste time and money to show $30,000 for a 6 month lease, go ahead and do that. I just want to let people know how they treat the customer and if you feel don't worth it, dont even waste your time to talk with them. Not worth the time to deal with these people.

I have to say that you seem a little bitter. I have friends that live here as well as me and they have had to show as much money as you did. You need to understand that when you have no job they have no way of knowing how you will pay for the apartment. You savings is the only way to show that. They need to see a lot of money b/c they need to know that you can pay rent along with all your other bills. If you have a job then you should be getting paid. Why would you work for free with this economy today? That is crazy. Gables has been great for me and I advise that you get a job that you get paid for. That is common sense. You work, you get paid, then you can pay your bills.

I understand your frustration but without a job, you must prove that you will be able to pay each month's rent. Showing proof of income is common in all apartment complexes when you have no job. Most complexes do not accept full payment up front. I assure you that you were not treated any differently from anyone else who applies for an apartment with no job or income. You may have $15,000 in your savings now but who is to say you will have it in 2-3 months. I think you were treated fairly and no differently than anyone else with no job.

He was not treated fairly. I too was without a job so I simply paid it all in advance. Seems simple enough
