Cool (indoor hallways), some inconveniences (theft).

I guess noise is both subjective and the luck-of-the-draw. I haven't heard my neighbors' conversations, only the occasional footsteps from upstairs. The walls certainly don't seem to be dorm-room thin to me.
This complex isn't built like most brick buildings surrounded by parking. The parking is all in one place, and there are indoor/outdoor hallways leading to each door. So you can complain about the one entrance / exit, but I'd rather have the cool design and all the cars in one place. In fact, it was the nifty hallways that sold me on this place.
Sure, moving is a pain. Hire movers. You're moving to the Galleria, you yuppie, you! Start acting like it!
Utilities are low, at least if you're not on the roof. Water is subsidized and about $10 a month.
The pool is small and shallow, but pleasant. There is an identical one across the street at Essex house if you're inclined towards pool-hopping.
The weight room is small, cramped, and hot.
The garage is frequented by thieves, but they're professional thieves. If you don't have a BMW / Mercedes / Lexus etc. you shouldn't worry, really. The only theft I've seen so far is an M5 that got its wheels jacked. But they were jacked professionally - the car was up on blocks, and it wasn't vandalized otherwise. So at least they make it easy for you to deal with insurance and all that. That being said, those with blinging vehicles might want to be a little more discriminating.
Management can take a while to get routine maintenance done. But they're better to deal with than most.
You can walk to Central Market.
Compared to what I paid in Austin, I find it very hard not to really, really like this place. But keep your E55 AMG out of the garage!
