I have lived here and it is wonderful!! You can't blame crime in the city on your landlord. Who would you have to blame if crime happened at your home' Your mortgage company'''!!! NO! There is no "security" anywhere...Has anybody watched the news' I happen to know that the property next door to here had cars broken into too...AND THEY HAVE "security" guards manning the gates 24 hours a day/7 days a week! Before you throw a fit...DO SOME RESEARCH and stop playing the blame game. The staff goes well out of their way to have activities and many other things and they are always pleasant! I have DEFINATELY seen much worse!!!!

When it comes to your own property you have control over the situation such as enclosed garages, private fences, cameras, etc... The maroneal apts has 24/7 security cameras at the entrance and exit gates and a overnight security now. The lanesborough on the other hand highers idiots for security its not a matter of blame but a lack of support as in wanting it to be a better and safer place. I have lived here for four years and it has always been a problem. Maybe we just dont feel the same way as the victims because we havent been victims yet.

I'm currently living a few blocks away at Brompton Court, which is much cheaper than Greenbriar. I am surprised to hear about this crime, because it has not happened at our apartment community. We have a gated entrance, but no security guards. The staff sends emails and letters if anything happens. Wow, so surprised to hear this about Greenbriar. I was considering moving this summer, just to save money, but I'm horrified by what I am reading about other nearby and more costly apartments. Greenbriar was at the top of my list of potential places to move in July. I guess I'll just stay put!

"Gated complex" is meaningless, when anyone can just wait for a tenant to arrive and anyone can just follow them in. They have no cameras here and no real security. They waste their money on a Japanese garden few people use, instead of investing money in real security. After my car was keyed in the garage at the rear, I was told "we'll see what we can do" in response to my suggestion about security cameras. That was a patronizing, placating way of saying, we won't do a darn thing. As for the Brompton mentioned above by another reviewer, also run by Rockwell Management, a female Rice student was jumped and mugged in December 2006 in their parking garage--also with no cameras for security!! It would seem that money is the bottom line for Rockwell Management, not your safety.
