It's been a while since we lived at this complex, but it is by far the worst place I have ever lived and think everyone should be warned about this overpriced box.

When we were there you needed a card to get in and out of the parking area. Keys were also required to get from the parking area into the complex area (it's an inward facing box). If you didn't lock your keys in the car and managed to get into the complex, you still needed them to check the mail and the small laundry area was out in the parking lot. You needed a key for that too. As one resident put it "Welcome to the Houston Federal Prison".

Every single inch of open space had a plant in it. That's all nice and all, but it does tend to wear thin after a while. I'm not sure where the kids played as there was no available space all. Parking spaces were assigned (one per unit) with open parking in the front of the building and just inside the gate. All the spaces were very narrow and seemed designed for economy or sports cars.

We were there when the complex was sold to whoever owns it now. One of their first acts was to blame cat owners for plumbing problems though it was quite clear the plumbing was just old and in need of repair. As the place was heavily populated by elderly folks, I think it was just rude and horrible to threaten them with getting rid of their pets or moving.

The office crew itself was horrible. At one point, one of the ladies misplaced a package containing software valued at over $1K. It took nearly a week to get them to get off their fannies and look for it. They blamed the maintaince guy, the USPS and even questioned if I was sure I was expecting a package despite having that little orange slip the postman left in my box. I had to print out a confirmation from the USPS site proving it had been signed for by someone in the office. It was eventually found in a box, in a drawer, back in the storage area. To this day, I kind of think they expected me to forget about it.

While the maintaince men hired by the previous owner were pretty much on the ball, the hire-outs the new management had for beautification were terrible. They would pretty much walk right in and out as they pleased, never thinking to knock. Not that that was much a surprise because the management did the same thing.

The only way to stop them from doing this was to keep the deadbolt engaged at all times. They did not like this and would start pounding on the door like it was a matter of life and death. It was completely beyond them that a pregnant woman home alone might think it wise to know who's on the other side of the door before opening it.

So, what's the moral' Run away as fast you can. The people in charge of this complex are unbelievably rude and hostile for the amount they charge. You'll get better service at a two bit flea ridden dive than you will at this overpriced box.

Dear Yuppie Prison,
Obviously you were too young to appreciate living on your own and what it takes to run a community. If you felt the rent was too high why did you not do a better job negotiatiating at the time the lease was signed? This community is for RESPONSIBLE adults, not juvenile deliquents who can't keep track of their keys. Dealing with childern like you is probably why Tanya (the best apt. Manager) left.
With an attitude like you have you will probably never find a suitable community. Jeana
