I has a six month lease. Seven minute commute was nice. I was on the bottom floor of one of the East buildings and I did not notice any roaches the entire time, except outside, of course (it is Houston).

It was really an unremarkable leasing experience - the buildings are a bit older (for Houston), so washer/dryer hookups were missing, windows and appliances are ancient, construction is shoddy, and access and parking were mediocre. When I moved in, I was told my dishwasher (a basic early 1980s model) would be replaced, but never heard anything else about it. It was amazingly loud and had exactly one option ('Wash') on the dial.

In the last month of my lease, a pipe in the bathroom sprung a pinhole leak, and the entire bathroom had to be torn out and replaced. Management gave me a key to the empty apt. upstairs while it was being fixed.

Never used the pool. Parking spaces assigned and laid out randomly (maybe by seniority'), making it unlikely that yours is close to your apartment. No legal spots on the East end means you risk a ticket while loading or unloading a car. Most garage spots were tight tended to be flooded with and inch or two of water. I had to roll down my window and use a keycard to enter the garage, and a radio button to leave. Why they didn't use a radio button to enter and have a sensor installed for the exit, I don't know.

With the short commute and relatively low rent, the problems were bearable. They were going to raise my rent and I found a house apartment off of Alabama near Montrose that was better.
