Respectful, long-term resident

I have loved living here up until the last few years. Even though great efforts have been made to improve the grounds, I wonder if background checks (if any) are made on the newer residents' Having a checking account and job doesn't necessarily qualify what type of resident is signing that contract in the long-run. Improving the grounds is one thing, approving who lives on them is another.
My first experience in the office of the former AMLI management set the bar in the sense that the employees wore matched professional attire/name badges. This may sound trite but they responded in a professional manner with tactful answers. There was an expectation being set: no guessing that I, as a future resident, was being interviewed as much as I was interviewing the management.
I see evidence of gang activity (writing on a Dish network unit by apt. 1210/20). I can't avoid hearing an orange 'chopper' cruising to and from his/her apartment (either from bldg 10 or next to it). I see garbage on the grounds on non-garbage days. I've seen naked people around the pool late at night.
Very concerned about resident safety. Reflecting upon when Mike was dismissed, his presence (yes, and with his well-trained dog) made a significant contribution to the safety and integrity of this complex. With apparent gang existence, security measures need to be recognized ASAP.
Landscaping still needs attention - could there be more communication on the monthly newsletter on a game plan/time line from management' Could the residents make a suggestion and with approval, have it implemented' This is my home - I expect more. I choose to rent. With all the focus on repainting and landscaping, the focus needs to return to the basics of living: security.

Even though some things have improved somewhat, the word is be PRO-ACTIVE day and night (if you live here or not) when suggestions, comments, concerns and such are brought up to the ones in charge. The graffitti on the Dish at Apt. 1210/20 SHOULD BE of great concern and it SHOULD be stopped in its tracks. This GANG thing should not be allowed to fester our community. Let's hope they read our comments and take immediate action. PLEASE DO IT!. We do need security now that this troubling action is going on. Thanks

This response is funny. I have gone to Staci and talked to her on several things going wrong with the apartments. I talked to her about my plants getting broken from the contractors. I talked to her about there being no security at night. I talked to her about the gates to the pools not locking and the fear of little ones falling into the pool and drowning. Her response to all... her exact words... " I am sorry for the inconvenience."
It is not an inconvenience on my items being broken. It is destruction of private property. It is not an inconvenience if your car is stolen. that is theft. It is not inconvenience for a little one to wander through the broken pool gates, fall into the pool and drown. It is tragedy. Thankfully there has not been a drowning here but with the broken gates there is a great chance of it happening.
Staci is always real quick to say that and complaint that you have is an inconvenience and that nothing can be done. The fact is that she is sorry that we come in and complain to her. She is sorry for her inconvenience. She said, over a month ago, that we were getting a new security guard. This person was to live at the apartments and was a police officer. Well I walk a lot at night and have not seen and security scene Mike left.
I have gone over Staci and have left messages at the head office. That was over 3 weeks ago. I have yet to get a response. They do not care about making the renters happy. Once you sign the contract you are stuck here. Also due to Ike there are a lot of people looking for a new place to live. In the end they only care about the All Mighty Dollar.
In the November news letter Staci complains about children coming in to get a cookie of a few pieces of candy. That it is eating up her budget. That only the adult residents can only come in and eat the cookies and candy. I have seen adults come in and they do not get and sweets while there. What Staci wants is to have the cookies and candy out to look good for the people come in looking to rent here. If I go in the office, to pay rent, and my 10 year old daughter is with me I let her have a cookie is she wants. I do think that if the kids are coming in that they should be limited to one cookie a day. The children are out more, they see more. They should see the office and the staff as a place they feel welcome. Not that they are not welcomed just because they are kids.
I will be moving out when my lease is up. I have been here for 1 1/2 years and it has gone down hill fast.

Once again, I AGREE with all of the above. It obviously makes no difference and the comment about the ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR is so true. I am not one to judge a book by its cover, however some of the new residents I have seen leave alot to be desired. They look like gang members or drug dealers. It's very obvious they are not performing criminal background checks or credit history. I know one person who stores 3 cars in the parking lot. He has a garage for one and the other two he takes turns in parking between the parking lot and his garage. He was stickered on one vehicle the other day so he put that one in the garage and brought out the other one to store it until he gets stickered. It's ridiculous. The loud noise coming from cars and Yes I have heard the loud orange Harley Davidson as it shakes my apartment. I have recently signed a new lease however I may consider jumping ship. After speaking to an attorney, the ownership is clearly in default. Anyway, I will get off my soap box as it never does any good. I do not think anyone from Mid-America even reads these comments. Oh well, maybe if enough of us move out they will get the hint....although it will be too LATE....and they will be left with the TRASH that they allowed in... I guess the last laugh will be on US!!!!

I am not one to judge a book by its cover either, however some of the new residents look like immigrants, gang members or drug dealers because of there manner of dress, and the VERY FACT that they are drinking and smoking weed in public! It's very obvious they are not performing criminal background checks. This place is seriously deteriorating!
