Overall a nice place to live.

My husband and I have lived here for six months. We have an 'upgraded' apartment. It is very nice. There is a washer and dryer in our apartment. That is very difficult to find! The fridge, stove, and dishwasher are practically brand new. Closet space is wonderful and the bathroom has a huge tub! However, there are a few issues. Number one: the thermostats are older, so our energy bill is a bit higher during the Summer months. We've discussed this with management, but they haven't fixed it. Number two: security isn't fantastic. There has been numerous break-in, but not in our part of the complex. I think they have mostly been in the front of the complex, we're towards the back. However, someone who lives in our building had their car broken into. From what we've heard, they used to have an on-site security person. But, not anymore. Not sure why. Also, the security gate was broken for a few months. They have finally fixed about a month ago. Number three: other tenants can be loud. Some people blast their car stereos, but not really late at night. People at the pools can be noisy, but it's the Summer. Number four: cockroaches. We had a few weeks of cockroach issues. However, I've figured out that they are attracted to water, not food. So, I just keep everything thing, and wipe-up any water on the floor and counters.

Although the problems seem like a lot, from the research I've done for the surrounding apartments, Greenwood Forest is really nice. It is in a nice location. Grocery stores, post offices, and the Willowbrooke mall are very close.

I think people forget that there will always be something wrong with an apartment complex. If you can afford a home, then buy one.

But, for what we pay in rent, it would be nice if management fixed the issues we have.
