Mice in walls

I lived here for a couple of months and lately I haven't been able to sleep due to a loud noise in the walls in the middle of the night. I went to the leasing office and told Lisa of the problem and she instantly stated that a few different buildings have complained about noises and that it's just field mice in the walls. Lisa even stated that she's even seen the mice herself. The issue has not been resolved and when I called back she told me that she has to wait on maintenence to go out to possible set traps. I explained to her that I can't sleep at night because it sounds as if a huge animal is trying to come through the walls. Lisa insists that the mice are there because of the construction going on and she blows it off as if it's no big deal. I'm not sure if she is aware or not but mice do carry diseases. The apartment was very nice, but sleeping with loud mice in the walls just isn't right.

I just wanted to comment on this since we are having a situation with carpenter ants. I know they are since I have read on them extensively and know the signs.
If the fixtures, ie cabinets were not so outdated and warped from moisture than this wouldn't be a problem. We have contacted the maintenance team to look at and hopefully this will be resolved. I know I will not be renewing my lease in a few months.
