I have lived 2 years in these apartments and have witnessed how the place has gone downhill. When we moved in this place in 2007, the place was nice and clean, the staff was pleasant, maintenance complaints were taken care of in 2-3 days. In the first year I lived there were only 2-3 cases involving break-in in cars. Let me give you some details, pointwise:
1. Security Issues: From around second half of 2008 something happened and the security gates were always broken, which resulted in a spike in the number of car break-in incidents. The office used to issue notices whenever such incidents happened, but I guess with number of incidents going up they stopped doing that.I know five people in these apartments, out of which 3 (including me) had car break-ins ! 66% rate !
They basically break the window of your car, and pickup whatever expensive items (GPS, radar detectors) they can find. Even after knowing about the high incidences of these break-ins the management doesnt want to fix the gate problem. They believe thefts are still going to happen. So if you are moving in, better make sure you have lifetime warranty on your car windows !
2. Regarding maintenance, now it takes more than two weeks for them to send anyone to fix the problem...and that too after repeatedly reminding them about it !
3. Beware of car towing ! my car had the correct sticker but was still was towed away just because it was kept in the same spot for two weeks...and they assumed its abandoned ! they put a notice on the car on fri evening and towed it sat morning. Since I was out of city, I had no chance of checking the notice on the car ! When I went to the office to complaint, instead of accepting their fault I got shouted at by them (Lisa) instead. 300$ i will never see again.
4. Office staff: Right now the staff is very nice to talk to, since Lisa is on vacation. I hope it remains that way.
Right now I am trying to find a good lawyer to see if I can sue them for the injustice I have suffered at their hands. From my painful experiences I can guarantee you this is not the place you want to live in.
PS. If you know a good lawyer, can you please email me on sunny_iitb@rediffmail.com '

Hopefully Lisa will just decide to be a stay at home mom and not come back.
