This has been a real wonderful place to live, or at least it was at the start. The new management company is trying to update the property, but they have let other things slide while trying to upgrade.
New appliances, floors and cabinetry are nice, but maintenance must be brought back up to standards of the previous owners. When we moved into the complex in 2007 maintenance calls were answered the same day. Now we have to keep up on the property managers to make sure someone comes at all in a few weeks.
I've complained about the landscapers not taking proper care of the vegetation and we are losing Oleander Bushes like crazy because of their ineptitude. We need gardners not lawn mowers with no experience to take better care of the plants.
Mice and snakes are a hazard of living next to a detention pond. When that pond fills with water the mice and snakes move out of it and into our property.

But those are the complaints. The good news is that this is a quiet friendly community. The property is nicely arranged and there is sufficient playground equipment for the families to take their kids within the property where they are safe.
The only problems we have had recently with the gates is when someone is in too much of a hurry and rams the gates off their tracks. Hurricane Ike did a number on the system and it did take some time to resolve those problems. Ike also did a number on a couple of chimney's and some roof damage, but all of that has been repaired and we have new paint throughout the exterior of the property. The renovations of the property are taking place with new appliances, tile floors in the baths and new kitchen flooring and new cabinetry in the kitchen. There are also new 2" wood blinds for all of the windows.

Since the assistant manager is no longer with the property things in the office are getting better. The property manager has been here six months but it may take a little longer for her to get a groove the previous manager had. The previous manager took the maintenance manager with her and I believe that is why we are having some problems. They need to get a handle on everything happening with the renovations and clean up after IKE to move on to other maintenance that needs to take place, but that will happen. I have faith.

We recently renewed for another year. We like it here, and we plan on staying at least for another year.
