I moved to Hidden Lake Apartments in September of 2004. I'm glad that I'm not the only one who has had problems with the management staff! My vehicles have been vandalized three times- my downstairs neighbor has left glass bottles under my back tires, a door ding in my brand new car, and a newspaper in my exhaust. The management will not do anything about it! I also have a 3 year old granddaughter and my downstairs neighbor complains constantly about her. The office management sides with the neighbors. My grandaughter is an average 3 year old- she likes to play-but is not loud. The neighbors The complaints are from her crying and from us walking around. I have spoke with the manager and her response has been "Hidden Lake Apartments is not a playground for children." Now of course since I mentioned a Fair Housing suit she denys ever saying it. Now they want me to transfer to a downstairs apartment, pay a $300 transfer fee, and sign another 6 month lease. I told her NO! Now instead of threatening to evict me because of my grandaughter they will leave notices about my patio not being organized. I have a Power wheeels Barbie Jeep, a childs scooter, bike, a grill, and 4 patio chairs on my patio. How disorganized can it get' All of the other neighbors leave boxes, couches, and other non-patio items and never get a complaint. I hope my story will help some other people with children rethink about living here!

I am the resident that lived below. I would like to correct a few things that were stated in her review. First of all, the grandmother (as she is trying to portray herself in this review) is not the person that was living in the apartment. The apartment management found out that the person who had signed the lease and the people (4 of them-child and 3 young adults) who were living in the unit were not the same people. She had rented the apartment for her daughter, granddaughter and her daughter’s live in boyfriend and friend. The apartment did not ask them to renew their lease as it was found that they were not the people who were living in the apartment. They were asked to finish their 3 month lease and then the apartment management refused to let them sign another lease.
The noise complaints were valid. First lets talk about the noise from the apartment. All day and all night long, not only from the child but from the 3 people living in the apartment. We would hear sounds that sounded like someone was jumping from furniture to the floor...all day. I am sure this was the child as she never had any supervision. There was running all the time. The 3 people living there aside from the child would get drunk often and then sit out on the patio all hours of the night and were extremely loud and rude. Many complaints went to the management about this. We would see the child out on the patio by herself, unclothed, just playing around, no adult supervision. The bars on the patio were not very safe for the child as she could have easily fallen from the second floor.
Noise complaints about the cars they had (yes cars, 4 of them at last count) were also valid. They were supped up sports cars that they would rev the engines, spin the wheels, drive recklessly and fast throughout the complex, etc. The accusations about the glass bottles, newspapers in exhaust pipe, and door ding on the car, were proven to be a false claim by the Webster Police and management staff (which they got in trouble for, don’t make false claims to the police department). They tried to accuse my husband of doing these things one night when in fact he had just been released by UTMB after knee surgery. He could not get himself to the bathroom let alone vandalize anyone’s property. It’s all in the police report, not just me spouting off my “side of the story.” There was actually an investigation.
No apartment complex is perfect and I have had my battles with Hidden Lakes over this tenant. She had been caught lying and making false claims from the day she moved into the apartment (which was supposedly her mother’s apartment). There is so much more to this story but I really don’t care to describe anymore. From what is here, you get the point.
