I just recently moved back to Hollister Place. I lived here about 2 years ago and really watched the community go down. I was in the market for a new place and had heard good things recently about Hollister Place from friends who live there now so I decided to stop in. The management company has changed and the new owners seem to actually care about their residents and the state of the community. So far I've been here about 2 months and I'm very pleased. The building that I live in is very quiet and the neighbors are very friendly. A state trooper lives in my building which is comforting to know. My only complaint is the upstairs neighbors. Im not sure if the ceiling is just not very well insulated or if hippoes live upstairs but I hear every step they make. Fortunately its not enough to keep me up at night or anything but its annoying at times. Other than that though everything else is great. I would definitely recommend Hollister Place this time around.

I have lived here for 2 years and I live in the same building with the trooper above the writer of this review, and yes our floors suck, you can hear every step we take because the shower has leaked every since we have moved in, even though it has been completley replaced 3 time, all 3 times shoty leaked as soon as they said it would be done. THIS PLACE SUCKS. The gates have worked for 2 of the 23 months that I have lived here, and my car was stolen, and my truck broken into 2 times here. My cousin who lives next door to the writer of this review had his apt. broken into after IKE. What a great place to Live! compared to HELL

A close friend of mine stays in Hollister Place apts., and they have been through pure hell with the management. They do not follow through with work orders, nor are they ever attainable via phone. Their hours of operation are not accommodating to those residents that work an 8-5p.m. work schedule, therefore only leaving the options to call by phone which again, does not work or leaving work early or going in late. The district and regional offices are also very hard to reach via phone.
There has been a leak in his shower since he has moved in which has gone unfixed, never has he received a remote for the gate because management said they ran out,(to tell the truth, the gates NEVER close which is a large disappointment) nor has the HUGE pot hole been fixed for the year that he has stayed there which no one can miss as they turn to enter into the left gate. After Hurricane Ike, an enormous broken tree limb lay in the middle of the street for 20 days after Ike by the washeteria, causing traffic problems for passing cars and a hazard because you could not see around the corner.
During and after Ike, he has had severe water damage to the ceilings, light fixtures and walls. More than 8 leaks and no quick response, as you guessed it, from management. They came in, did a quick assessment, and tore out the walls and ceilings where their was damage where mold was beginning to set up. That was done two weeks ago. He STILL has yet to hear from management when they are going to complete the work that they started, despite numerous visits and unanswered messages. Not only are the living conditions a safety hazard, they are a health hazard as well.
Let me not forget to mention that work on the roof of the mailbox center has been COMPLETED, and work on the leasing office is underway, and by the looks of it, will be completed before any resident at the complex will have a ceiling or a wall fixed where they have to dwell and live in...unlike management who comes in at 8, give or take 30 minutes, and leases at 5 or sometimes 6!

For those people that been living at Holliste for more than a year, you must like something if not why are you still a resident? Your lease does have an expiring date.
