RENTER BEWARE!!

I lived in Houston House for three years and it was horrible. The elevators are always broken and the maintenance staff is a joke. They do a good job of reassuring you so you will leave them alone but nothing gets done. It took a year for them to clean my vents which ended up meaning a layer of paint was put over the moldy vent cover. The halls wreak and the building is filthy. The weight room isn't worth your time, the equipment is so old that most of it doesn't work and there is no a/c. They turn the water off at least once a week for "repairs" which have been going on since I moved into the building. There is NO parking for guests and no matter how many people live in an apartment you will only be assigned one space. My car was towed from the front of the building and was towed a second time from Houston House property by incompetent management who didn't bother to check if I was a resindent before towing the car. And no, they did not reimburse me the $200. Houston House is an embarassment to the downtown community. If you are interested in living in a ghetto apartment and don't mind your friends laughing at where you live when they come over, Houston House is perfect.
