The view is awesome and the price is great for down town but I don t think I can stay here much longer.
I have complained 3 times about roaches not only in my kitchen and bedroom that crawl on you at night there in my freezer and refrigerator and I am a clean clean person and don t know why they wont leave.. But maybe if they would come and spray I could rest in peace.
And the gym ha the sauna and the gym is a joke .. The treed mills don t work due to the wires being cut.. And sauna is broken and its been that way for months.
The crime is a bit scary with 2 muggings this month but I have to say anywhere you need to be careful at night.. So this is not there fault.
The people that live here are great and would be the only reason I would hate to move.
But with the new buy out maybe things can turn around but lets see how long that takes
Again if you have a fear of roaches and oh I forgot fleas then don t live here. But other then that the view is great and the price for downtown is awesome.
Oh and did I mention that pray the lights don t go out because the emergency lights in the stair well don t work and I busted my but falling down a flight since I could not see... is there a law or something saying you must have working emergency lights'

I'm in the same boat. I'm in a corner unit. I've been here for 3 months. I just started seeing the roaches. :( You forgot to mention the BROWN WATER!!!!
My girlfriend told me that if there are things you find unlivable about your place, you can document them, write a letter to the office and evict yourself. There's a chance you could have to go to court over it... but there's a bigger chance they'd let it go since we can't be the only two people thinking this stuff.
Also, you've gotta know the new owners aren't gonna fix anything write away. I was sold on the basketball court (doesn't exist) and the gym (couldn't get in to see it that day)... a pack of liars!! LOL. When this lease is up.. I'm gone. Unless I figure a way to self evict.
And yes. there should be a law against not having emergency power available at least for lighting in the stairway... Cause I wasn't gonna try and brave it in the pitch darkness... NO WAY!!!.

You know I have lived at the House for 15 yrs. Yes there are problems, yes have noticed more bugs than in the past and yes the emergency lights only stay on for two hours. But in the time I have been here the lights have only gone off 4 times and only twice for over an hour or more. I have found the managers thoughtout the years to be accomadating but then I always go stright to them, not the desk staff or leasing staff. If you have not do that do and do it in writing....
No one should live with the bugs your having and brown water.... GET WITH THE MANAGER,,,,If that does not work, call the management company. I know they will respond, I've been there... It really is a great place to live, don't let the issues that can be fixed, take you away...

Sorry, sounds like the view is awesome which is one of the reasons why i'm moving closer towards downtown i absolutely LOVE the city! I'm from Cypress in NW Houston and i work off Richmond and plan on moving here bc the drive is horrible but if there's bugs, i'm moving on... absolutely no way i would stand it. And what my mother has told me and what is true, no matter how clean you are if the people next door or the floor below you are pigs, bugs will follow... same with rats etc. And the older the apartments the higher the chances of this. I'm upping my minimum budget and redefining my search after i looked at some apartments off Westheimer called Westheimer Terrace. DONT MOVE THERE i've already written about it. But everyone makes mistakes... this apartment situation really does blow for people who are looking for something reasonable and near downtown, we shouldn't be forced to live like trash and i dont plan on it. So good luck to everyone... AND ME! lol

Contact the City, The Mayors office and the news. Then something will get done!

I lived there for 2 and a half years and never saw a single roach in my apt. True security was questionable but there was a sense of community when you knew your neighbors. The price and location can't be beat for Houston.

I lived there for 2 years. I absolutely loved the view and the people. The place is what it is. Expect to get what you pay for. I challenge you to try and find anything comparable in downtown for the money. And now that the repulsive flaming queer in the front office is gone, there's not much I can complain about. Not to mention... it was a great place to be during the hurricane. What a view!!! And the power STAYED ON, which allowed me and only a few others in the entire city of Houston to buy Metallica tickets the next morning when they went on sale!!
