I have personally been cheated and lied to by apartment staffers when I wanted to move into a bigger apartment. I was told I had to pay a transfer fee of 150 dollars and pay half the rent in my old apartment and half in my new apartment.I paid the amounts that I was told by staffers.When I came in to pick up the key for the bigger apartment I was told that I had to pay 200 dollar deposit.Naturally I complained and wanted to speak with a manager.The manager was listening all the time letting the incident play out trying not to get involved.When I moved in 8 years ago I did not have to pay a deposit because it was a promotion.Now after 8 years they told me i needed to pay a 200 dollar deposit.The manager said I shouldn't have had to pay a transfer fee, then one of the other staffers looked up my account and found that I had a 100 dollar credit, when she mentioned it in front of myself and the manager and other staffers she abruptly told that she was needed in the back, and never came to the front again.I asked the manager about the credit and was told that it was another mistake.By this time I am very upset and frustrated.The manager scenses this and tells me I only need to pay 50 dollars to complete the deposit.I wanted this mess to end so I agreed to pay the 50 , so I wanted to write a check for the 50 right then and there and get away from these sleazy people. The manager tells me I can't write a check. I told her I write a check every month paying my rent which in 8 years I have never been late. After getting even more upset she said she would transfer 50 from the money that I had already paid which would make short on the rents for the old apartment and the new one.I was told if I did not bring in 50 dollars before friday I would be charged late fees for rent.I hit the roof!These people are thieves and something should be done about it.I trult believe that any money paid by money order is being taken by the staff and divided among them because as soon as you catch anyone of them in a lie, they all co-sign that lie.As an 8 year tenant I should be treated with more respect and courtesy.They are sarcastic and rude, if I could break my lease legally I would but I am stuck and they know it.I would advise anyone not move here with all of the gangs, drugs,and office trickery.You barely can get anything fixed and when they do it's not fixed for long.Terrible place to live.
