I never felt at home

My particular apartment had rather old and shoddy appliances but when the "new" management company (Greystar) contracted to upgrade all apartments, they replaced adequate fixtures and blinds but ignored needed substantive improvements! I paid way more rent than this apartment was worth.
I moved out in January and my main complaint is the rude staff and their/Greystar's constantly harassing me to enter into a lease after I had decided to go month-to-month at the end of my lease term--this was after I lost my job and started looking for a new one (I moved out of Texas in January). I paid a monthly fee on top of an increased rent for the "privilege" of going month-to-month in this circumstance; I was on unemployment and trying to keep my expenses down so I had calculated my month-to-month costs. Yet, less than 2 weeks after the start of my month-to-month status, Greystar tried to increase my monthly fee (illegally I believe) and the staff admitted this was a pressure tactic to get me to enter into a lease even though I explained that I expected to move out of Houston soon. Greystar NEVER even responded to my legal objections and explanations. The staff shouted at me when I went in to discuss so I wrote them long letters explaining my legal rights, which they ignored.
I understand the rudest staffer is no longer at the Inverness, but I advise NOT moving into any building that has Greystar as a manager. Look them up in the Better Business Bureau site.
You can do better than this.
