I lived at Lakeside Place for a year and was pretty happy.

Parking is VERY limited, unless you do as we did and pay extra each month for a reserved spot. I think it was $30/month each.

We had quiet neighbors and were not disturbed, except on Friday nights when our next-door-neighbor would do his laundry and the washer would bump against our wall. :-P Normally this would not be a problem, but we often had to travel very early on Saturdays and would go to bed around 8 on Friday and waking up to hear someone's laundry spinning at 9 was a little irritating! Other than that, we never, ever heard our neighbors.

We had an upstairs apartment and had a hard time keeping the place cool. Our bedroom windows faced west and could get quite hot, but hey, that's life in Houston. :-)

I too had a totally west facing apartment. It would NEVER cool down. I had older residents tell me that the management tinted their windows for them. I went and asked and (of course) they said they've never done that, but that I could pay myself if I wanted to. I paid right at $400 to have all the windows tinted. It helped quite a bit. I'm glad for you that your neighbors were quiet!! My upstair neighbors (and there were several different ones because of high turnover) never were quiet. I have a funny story about that. I had a stained glass butterfly hanging from the ceiling fan light cord. I've had it there in every apartment I've lived in with no problems. Well in this apartment, the neighbors upstairs stomped so hard that it would constantly turn my light on several times every night. I finally had to remove it. It's now hanging in my beautiful new apartment. I too paid $30x2 for parking spaces. I knew many many neighbors who had cars towed and/or ticketed.
