Please review the corporate company before leasing here. I beg you! Research Richdale properties. They own multiple properties throughout the country and all have the same complaints. I'm not really a complainer and have lived in many apartments but the corporate company is so so so shady. After hurricane Ike blew through we were left with a caved in ceiling/crack in the roof of our two bedroom apartment but it was deemed livable by Richdale. We had to live in our living room for weeks while the other room with no crack dried out (windows all leaked. Called the corporate office about moving us to another apartment or letting us out of the lease and they basically told us to shove it. Talked to one guy who said he didn't cause the hurricane. I was already in tears at the time..that made it a lot worse. Thank God we had rental insurance. After telling the people at the front desk multiple times as well as providing a letter they fixed most of the sheetrock and replaced the masterbedroom carpet but that was it. They did not fix the whole apartment even after we moved out. Major sheetrock was still hanging down in the kitchen and the other room had carpet damage. I had provided them with two letters and mailed one to the corporate office listing the remaining damages but guess what' I call the corporate office and they "lost" it and have no proof of it so they decided to charge me for carpet replacement. In addition to this, they also double charged me $86.00 on water and electricity and refuse to return it unless I sign a "settlement letter" which says I cannot talk about the fact that they wont give me money back and it also has a clause saying I cannot provide negative reviews or tell other people any negative informaiton about Richdale. Needless to say, the letter has not been signed. I can't believe they are trying to force me to sign something like that to get money that is legally mine. Called the corporate office and the lady I talked to was HORRIBLE and basically told me to screw myself and she didn't care if I got my money or not.
