There have been many many recent break-ins of apartments (on ALL floors), vehicles, assaults, people approached at night and having their purses and vehicles stolen. This is absolutely ridiculous. I think the managers here understand the concern, but corporate office does not. They do not want to spend the money to make this place secure. There really needs to be some serious control of this before someone gets killed. For the most part, there has been only breakins on the first floor. Today, however, a really nice couple got broken into on the third floor. They stole laptops, cameras, credit cards, driver s license, etc. The worst part is I talked to the guard who is supposed to be walking around here and he didn't even know a break in had occurred (hello... Did you not see the cop cars?) If it was a snake, it would have bit him. These robbers are smart, they watch the dumb guards take naps in their cars (which is all they do) and they watch you leave and they break in with crowbars. I am moving out of this terrible place in a matter of weeks. I have already begun to move everything of value, and destroy anything with credit card numbers, etc so these robbers will be rather disappointed if they come to my apt, but I do feel sorry for everyone who unknowingly moves here.

There may finally be some headway here. I got a note on my door discussing the safety issues at Lanesborough and all crime going on around here. They said in their note that a breakin... meaning only one, has occured. They forgot to mention the other 20 in our complex. However, I do commend the new manager for actually talking corporate into sending out a flyer to warn residents because originally they didn't want to scare people. There are still things happening around here and you would have to be pretty oblivious to not see it. The last couple of reviews that were written in mid-November make me wonder if corporate put someone up to write a good review. Apparently those reviewers missed seeing the boards on broken windows and the maintenence guys replacing their neighbor's kicked in door. Now I will agree with the Nov reviewers that this place is great location and I have really liked the change in management. I still do not feel safe at all walking around at night unless I know the guards are around. The guards work different times of the day so you never know when they will be there... It would be better to see them 24-7.

It was promised that there would be 24hr guards on staff, but there will not be because corporate will not shell out the money to secure us. There is a new manager here and she is really nice and I do feel she has been trying to talk corporate into doing more, but they will not budge because of the cost. In this month alone, about 30 tenants have moved out of here (that is at least a $360,000 loss in annual rent and Richdale in Nebraska does not find that a big deal I guess). I have talked to 4 of the tenants moving out and they all say they are moving because of the breakins and I am guessing the other 26 have the same issue too. Richdale's excuse is that it is happening everywhere, but I guarantee that if they spent the money on making us feel secure, they would have people lining up to live here. As promised, I will keep updating as things get better or worse.

I was the one who wrote on 9/21. This is an update:
In one month's time, things have gotten significantly worse with all the breakins. Last night there were even multiple cop cars running around and officers running searching around the pool. I have lost count of how many apartments have been broken into. Many many people have moved out. I would really like to work out in the mornings early, but I am afraid to walk around here in the dark when not a lot of people are up. I have even seen the robbers walking around here in broad daylight on the weekends & I was totally scared because I was by myself and they could have robbed me too if they wanted. They are black males in their early 20s carrying backpacks (this was confirmed when I spoke with someone who had gotten robbed). There is absolutely no security on the weekends. Our pedistrian "security" gate does not even need a code, anyone can walk in and out at their leisure. I have a lease signed with the apartment complex, but I fully intend on breaking it if anything happens to me. Especially after the commotion last night, I will be talking to the apartment manager again. I am really disappointed that nothing has been done and I am mad at myself for signing another lease to this place. I fully intend on updating if things get better to where I (a girl living by myslef) feels totally secure.

We have reviewed your comments and wanted to respond. Crime has no zip code, and we are working with HPD for increased patrol. We encourage you to call them at 713-884-3131. Our courtesy officers are on site and every apartment at the LNB is equipped with an intrusion alarm. If you need a form to have your intrusion alarm monitored, please come to the office. We encourage you to reference the police departmentÂ?s website (http://www.houstontx.gov/police/cs/beatpages/beat_stats.ht in which you can see our apartment communityÂ?s crime statistics compared to others in the surrounding area. I think you will note that the Lanesborough fairs well in this regard. Furthermore, we hope you will bring any sightings of suspicious activity or security concerns immediately to our attention.
