This property is much better to live in than look at!

I spent four years in a one-bedroom study with stacked washer and dryer. Because it's an older property, the closets are huge. The downside is that there aren't wall outlets everywhere(there are at least one per wall, but still, I was wired with two computers, etc.,) Our apartment had a brick bar and accent wall that made it difficult to hang pictures.
The maintenance was very efficient, same day on the RARE occasions I had minor emergencies, next day on the other stuff. Don't bother leaving messages for the office with the answering service; they won't get it. The answering service WILL get messages to mainenance. The property is huge, and my wife and I felt 100% safe living in an upstairs apartment nestled in the middle of a building in the center of the property, and walked to the Kroger's right across the street any time day or night (no surprise, the Kroger's is run-down and dingy, go elsewhere to buy steaks). Children run around during the afternoon when school is not in session. I agree, the neighborhood is skanky. But since this place has a thousand apartments, it is effectively its own neighborhood, plus you are within two minutes of 59 and 610, and can cut over to the Galleria area without using either freeway. They are student-friendly, were happy to have a cosigner for the first lease and take them off after that, and their courtesy officers will come out and hassle people for noise violations if you call it in. I had noisy neighbors occasionally, perhaps twice a month, but I shut them up within an hour using the courtesy officer, every time, sometimes even 10-15 minutes. My neighbors left for work in the morning and came back at night... yes, they spoke Spanish or weird Eastern European dialects, but they had jobs, and showed respect for other people and the management. All in all, this was a great value for a spacious apartment. p.s. apartment insurance is cheap because of their firewalls, look into it!!!
