Good if you are on a tight budget.

I lived at Lantern Village when I was a student at U of H, and the place was just right for me.
It's a place for people on a low budget, - students, old folks with little money, and people with lots of kids.
There are no garages - so - beware if you have a nice car. My car was trash - so nobody touched it ever. Noise levels were low. I liked that. Apartments are old, and smell funny sometimes. It looks like most of the newly build apartments have horrible noise problems because they are so cheaply built.
I also liked the tight security. Apartment complex is divided in two phases, each has two entrances guarded 24x7. I guess you need that kind of security in a neighbourhood like this. But hey, where in Houston, with no zoning laws, there is a good neighbourhood' Unless you live some suburbs... I never had any problems since there was almost nothing to steal from me. I did not like big windows overlooking the "promenad". You can see you neighbours passing back and forth all day.
Other than that, I would recommend these apartment to anybody on a tight budget, especially since all the bills are paid.
