We were one of the first families to move into the community when it opened in late 2003. Mike Rodriguez and his Greystar Team were not always prompt, but the place was clean, any issues we had were addressed and we knew we could walk in the office and see a familiar face and a smile. As the reviews corroborate, when MBS took over, the Crackheads and Gang-bangers came out of the woodwork and the complex became an embarassment. Boards are kicked out of the back fencing so that we can all pretend we're in Mexico...Just check out the pool on a week night. On a recent weeknight, we went to the pool and out of 29 people at or around the pool area, 25 of them were speaking Spanish. Holy Burrito Festival Batman!!! Sunday night at the pool was filled with a bunch of drunk trailer park escapees and their cases of beer, cartons of cigarettes and busted speaker jamboxes. While one slob was barfing his brains out on the patio, his Q-tip sized cohort was throwing firecrackers towards another group of drunken dorks that were busy stumbling around the pool looking for their full beer cans that had sank to the bottom. It was really quite disturbing. We wondered how such losers can afford to live in a place like this. I'm guessing they're either cramming 8 or 9 people into an apartment and splitting the rent, they don't live here at all or that Stephanie Patterson gave them a lease special because she was so apt to "work with people."
Yep, you guessed it. If you were the right color, and she helped get you an apartment here, chances are you would have paid nearly $300 less per month than the people that can actually afford to live here are paying.
The maintenance crew is the worst I've ever seen and it takes the lawn care crew 10 men and 14 hours to do a job that 2 hard working men could finish in 3 or 4 hours. I often times find the hardly working turds that operate the weed eaters and blowers sitting down behind the trash compactors. You can even speak to them, but don't expect a reply. They just smile with a big ol ---- eating grin on their face and have no friggin clue what the hell you are saying. It's actually quite entertaining.
In summation, this is the most incompetent, clueless, and lazy management company I've ever seen. The apartments look nice on the outside and even on the inside, but you can tell they were cheaply made. There are nicer communities with much better management and less trash in the neighborhood. I highly recommend that anyone searching for an apartment in this area of town to turn the page and stay away from the 7th Ward we so un-affectionately refer to as Las Ventanas.

I am so glad that another tenant see's things the way they really are around here. I have never been more exposed to the Sheriffs department in my life, I know most of them now.

I know what you mean...trust me. Me being hispanic though I must say some of the things you said were a bit disturbing regarding Mexican people. Please understand this not all Mexican --------- are the same. I live in little Mexico and as much as I love visiting Mexico, I don;t want to live there. Yet here I've been for a year (I'm out this month) and I am actually embarassed of my own kind. I am a hard working hispanic insurance agent and the last thing I want to see is black, mexican and white trash outside drinking 40's

Holy Burrito Festival Batman??? Arrogant Pig! Though I have 0 tolerance for rude people, Your comments are racist and arrogant.First of all they have the right to speak spanish. Be it white, black or hispanic. It's not only the "mexican" people who are out there being rude. Oh by the way not all Hispanic people are mexican.I being a mexican-american, hard working, probably make more money than you have the sense to act decent.

That was one of the funniest things I've ever read. Old Santa Maria even threw out some pig smack at you. Maybe she'll come clean your house or mow your yard with all of her dinero she's braggin about. My sister lived at Las Ventanas last year and she complained that it was a Hurricane Katrina shelter for all the saggin (spelled backwards). Whoever "anonymous" is should be a columnist or comedian because I'm having to Windex my computer screen from all the Dr. Pepper I just spewed from laughing so hard.
