They use residents deposit money to buy basic supplies like copy paper and paper clips.

They sure do. I used to work for MBS and they asked us to get residents to leave their rent checks blank so we could write in the name of vendors to get work dont to the property. No vendors will service MBS because they NEVER pay their bills.

I had to produce copies of a $300 money order AND a $300 check I had used to pay pet deposits when I lived in an MBS property because they tried to say I only paid $150 and that I owed them money! I am also still getting a water bill from that property (as much as $48/month for an efficiency) and I haven't lived there in 3 months!!

You had better keep good records of any deposits...they blatantly spend them of operations and will not credit you for a deposit unless you dispute it. Keep copies and get acknowlegement that they received your money IN WRITING!!!

I LIVE IN STEEPLECREST, WHICH IS AN MBS PROPERTY. I HAD 4 DAYS NO WATER AND HAD TO GET WATER FROM THEIR POOL AND HAUL IT 3 FLIGHTS OF STAIRS IN ORDER FOR ME TO FLUCH MY TOILETS. THE MANAGER SAID I GET NO PRO-RATED COMPENSATION AND I CALLED MBS CORPORATE AND LEFT AT LEAST 10 MESSAGES AND GOT 1 RESPONSE SAYING THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO GIVE ME ANYTHING. I HAVE AN 18 MONTH OLD SON AND HAD TO DEAL WITH THEIR -------- AND GET WATER FROM A HOSE TO FILL UP THE SINK TO BATHE MY SON. THOSE GUYS ARE HORRIBLE.
