Safe but very thin walls

I have lived here for three years. The apartmnet is very safe and in good condition. We haven't had any serious maintenance problems. The only real problem is that the walls are very thin. The first two years I was here, my upstairs neighbor would walk around wake me up in the middle of the night. I bought my wife a treadmill and even though she walks on it in the early evening, always before 9:00 pm, our neighbors complained to the management about the noise. There was no 1st warning about the noise from the managemeant. The first I heard about the complaints was when I recieved a formal letter from the management threatening me wiht eviction if we continued to use our treadmill. We are moving in order to use the treadmill and because our rent was just raised $100/mo.
