Not Bad

Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2004
I've been here since the place opened in 2000 and I'm finally moving out this month. The staff has been pretty bad over the years - but I rarely needed their assistance. When something breaks, they fix it quickly. I've had a couple of cases of total incompetence - for awhile it seemed like I was having to constantly remind them of which parking spot was assigned to me because they "lost all the records in a computer crash"
Parking is absolutely horrible here. If you expect to find parking - even for yourself - you'll need to pay the $20/month extortion.
If you have children, you may want to avoid this place as well. There is no playground and the kids are forced to use the traffic lanes for their bikes, skating, and other activities.
The place has recently undergone an extensive re-painting with a new management company. I was skeptical, but think the apartments appear better now.
Never had an issue with carpet since I was the original resident. Generally there were incentive offers to renew my lease each term including professional carpet cleaning.
Noise is not an issue - Either I have quiet neighbors or the apartments are well constructed.
In the 4 years I've been here, crime has not really been a problem. A couple of the typical "someone is breaking car windows" cases, but you'll likely find that at any complex.
The gates never work - but I believe that is typical as well.
Pool is okay and the exercise facility is well equiped.
This complex is often known as the "HP Dorm" because of its proximity to the Hewlett-Packard (formerly Compaq) Houston campus. I believe the complex has a large number of units dedicated to HP relocation folks and other corporate housing.
Highway and traffic noise can be an issue, especially for units near Louetta Rd and Jones Rd.
In general, I'm going to miss this place, but in the most recent lease renewal they failed to extend an incentive. With all the great deals available in the area, it was difficult not to at least consider moving.
