Yo!

I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE WARNINGS!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006

I am writing this review after experiencing NUMEROUS problems while residing at The Lodge at Shadowlake. My intention is to warn and redirect others considering moving to this property.

Like others, I read the previous warnings posted by other residents and hoped I would have a better experience. I WAS WRONG! From day one, I have had several maintenance problems that have not received any attempts to be fixed and many problems with the office staff. Upon my move in date, the air conditioning DID NOT WORK AT ALL! I read another post from a current resident that stated they had moved in around the same time and had the same problem. Additionally, the ice maker, shower in the second bathroom, light fixtures, some electrical sockets, and kitchen faucet either did not work or were faulty. Regarding the kitchen faucet: If you turn the handle a certain way water would leak all over the counter. In general, I have paid rent for a period of 51/2-6 months on an apartment that SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN LEASED IN THE CONDITION IT WAS IN!

I made several maintenance requests including: verbal, written, certified letters, etc. It is now nearly six months later and I just now received the repairs I have requested since April! Let me also mention, I went as far as scheduling an appointment with the General Manager to discuss my unresolved repair requests. I took time away from work to meet with her only to be disregarded so that she could take an extended lunch. This shows you that if the GM acts this way, you can only imagine the hellish ordeal when dealing with the office staff! There is consistent turn over rates with the staff and I have had the āpleasureā of dealing with the worst ones! There is a new hire that is exceptional. She handles matters promptly and doesnāt give you the run around.
So my additional tip for the current residents is to ask for Elizabeth if you want anything to get done!

AFTER THE REPAIRS UPDATE:
I received a letter today stating that I am now in violation of my lease due to the location of my satellite dish. WHAT A COINCIDENCE! After all the noise I made SIX MONTHS LATER about my maintenance requests I am cited with this violation! Supposedly, the letters were sent out to everyoneā.I will further investigate that statement. My main concern with this āviolationā is this: Why is the management more concerned with the location of satellite dishes than she is about leasing inadequately maintained apartments' This is my biggest problem now more than the lack of the repairsāthe management. I want everyone to know how improperly managed and maintained The Lodge at Shadowlake is. Please listen to the advice of the current residentsāKEEP LOOKING!

Sincerely,

Renterās Advocate
