Do not plan to renew my lease - cannot wait until it expires

I have another 4 months left on my lease and am not sure I can take it. The newest issue is gnats! My entire building has been complaining of gnats that seem to be coming in and out of our window and door frames. I'm not so sure that they aren't traveling throught the ventilation systems. You would think that there would be a mandatory extermination of the entire building but instead each apartment was only exterminated after you requested to be put on the list. An exterminator has come out and the gnats/fruit flies have diminished but seem to be coming back again...three days later.
Apart from the gnats, sound is a serious issue. The buildings have no insulation. I can here my neighbors conversations if they are standing in the parking lot, stairs or hall. And they are hardly yelling, just carrying on a normal conversation. My upstairs neighbor's television can be heard just as if it were my own. I laugh sometimes when I find the same channel. I can just mute my own.
This is the worst apartment complex I have lived in yet. I thought it looked well kept...the grounds are nice. But fast maintenance, accomodating office personnel and the overall feeling of home cannot be found here. Beware and do your research. I will be certain to investigate more next time. Good luck!
