Not a Deal

I found the apartments to look ok, but after living there for a bit, they turned into a nightmare.
The parking is terrible, poorly lit with many nooks and crannys where thieves can hide.
Security was virtually zero.
The apartments were nicely laid out but the trim and the fit and finish of the apartments left something to be desired.
The interior of my apartment started falling apart shortly after I moved in: Carpet seems were coming apart and the laminate was coming off the counters in the kitchen.
I found the place to be extremely noisy.
The noise came from the highway that ran next to the place, road noise and noisy residents that knocked around badly echoing hallways at all hours.
Trash seemed to overflow out of the shoots all the time.
The management team was pathetic.
They were either never around, or when they were around, they never seemed to have an answer or anything else needed on hand.
One big warning: Every person I know of that has moved out of the MacGregor has had all or part of their deposits kept and a couple have actually been sued because they supposedly broke a lease.
None of it was true.
The MacGregor has a fairly intricate paperwork system designed to trip you up so that they can charge you more once you move out.

In fact, I find the managment in particular to be very helpful and handy. But thats probably b/c I don't huff around with a scowl on my face all day hating every little thing about my apartment. Don't sweat the small stuff dude! If you are nice to management, they are nice to you! Its the golden rule we all learned in kindergarten.
Also, by "supposively" you probably meant "supposedly". Look it up!

Did you move-out in 2005? If so, you really need to move on. Two years later..get a life.

yougotjohn: Sorry, but the management teams is one of the worst I have ever dealt with. It wasn't that they were impolite, it was that they were clueless. They acted all nice and smiley and dosed to the gills on Prozac. I was the very first tenant to live in my unit. It was plagued with problems from the day I moved in. One of the worst was the fact that the carpet was put in in sections (as expected), but it wasn't taped together. Sections of carpet were coming up. I mentioned this to the management company. Their answer was: Just write it down. We won't bill you for it. I felt like I was dealing with dumb slum lords, not upscale management.
Oh, yougotjohn/Anonymous: Your nasty comments just reinforce my assertion that management is clueless.
