Not Horrible, But Definitely Way Overpriced

I've been living here for quite some time (years) despite sharp rental increases because a.) it's close to the medical center and b.) I can't stand the thought of moving and c.) the lofts near-by are a huge money trap and gross waste of money and thus wouldn't want to buy one.
Is it a horrible place' Nahhhhhh.... The Esplanade'''' Yeah, that's a really, really bad place to live (just a mile down the road) and even more costly than this place.
Management'' Not bad at all... not the typical apt. mgt. staff, although Susan was better than the present manager. The other ladies are very pleasant to deal with.... but regarding the typical mgt. staff often associated with luxury apts... what gives' Many of these people have far worse "holier than thou" attitudes than my physician colleagues, but why'''''''' Cracks me up. See Esplanade.
Security' A joke for the most part.... I've come home at 2-3 in the a.m. only to find the rent-a-barney (when there is one) asleep in a car....niceeee. I'm not sure you'll find better elsewhere though... I never have. While there have been numerous vehicles burglarized, it's a common problem anywhere in Houston.
Parking.... some socially inept imbeciles (such as the lady with the late model red Jaguar and Mercedes) will always feel it's ok to park in handicap long term (without a permit) and others feel it's ok to park in reserved parking, but don't expect mgt. to have repeat offenders towed.
Noise''' Wow... DO NOT LIVE NEAR HWY if you are sensitive to noise and/or light sleeper....especially during the day. The view simply isn't worth the noise. Also, for some reason, there are people here who think it's okay to cram 30 people in an apt and play music (with incredible bass) as if no one else is around them....others clearly don't realize how pencil thin the walls are based on the fights I've heard pouring over into my apt.
Construction - Mediocre at best.... substandard in some areas. But hey folks....this is an apt, so don't expect too much. They chose builders choice materials, but we're paying to be in the medical center. Let me be clear.... while the pool and club house are nice, these are not "luxury apartments" by any stretch of the imagination.
Want a good deal' Negotiate up front and sign as long a lease as possible at that rate and then prepare for a hike when you renew.
