Con's: (1)fire alarm system goes off because residents are cooking and have mishaps which set the entire complex fire alarm system off in which the entire complex of residents must vacate their apartments. Two weeks before Thanksgiving some stupid fool decided to park there over heated car on the lower level garage and the smoke from the car set the fire alarm system at 1:30am(in the morning) and everyone nearly had a damn heart attack because the alarm went off - on top of that, children (babies) were awoken and had to vacate the premises. Over the past 2008 the fire alarm system has gone off 5 times (its December 2008 now).(2)My next door neighbor smokes weed and leaves the hallway reaking with the smell of weed (ganja, herb). (3) Today (12/8/08) everyone arrives home to find out that we have NO RUNNING WATER because the City of Houston decides to tap into water main and turn off the water and we are still without water its now 9:22pm, I called the 24 hour maintenance twice and still no one has responded, the leasing agents act stupid, so all the residents (families as well with babies) do not have running water to shower, eat, brush your teeth, flush the toilet, wash clothes, etc. And the City of Houston employees are not on Camden street they have went home and left the water turned off! (4) Hurricane Ike damages - my apartment the walls flooded, I was told that the building was poorly constructed, there is no drainage system for water to flow off the building if the Macgregor had a drainage system my apartment would not have so much damage. Its December and my apartment is still not finished fixed; Macgregor did not provide or offer another unit for me to live in on top of that I have to move everything out of my apartment for them to lay new carpet and Macgregor is not providing me with storage space to put my belongings for the carpet to be changed out!
(5) The price they charge to live in these apartments are over rated! The need to update the stove, cabinets, flooring, etc. in order to keep up with other newer apartment complexes!
PRO'S: The appearance is nice!
The old management was awesome, they cared about the residents. This new management is all about the legal issues that is in your lease contract.
Basically to sum everything up - ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY, they do not care if they INCONVENIENCE you!
