Don't Be Fooled By The Looks

I have and still live here at the Mandalay and am counting down the days till my lease agreement expires. My home has been broken into (2 months after moving in), a resident broke into the cable control box and stole my cable, and I am surrounded by the noisiest neighbors (above and bedroom side) in West Houston. I have been to the leasing office more than 5 times and though they are the nicest people you will ever meet, they have done absolutely nothing. Parking is also the worst that I have ever seen but it has gotten better since they have instituted the parking permits. But that comes at the expense of your guests because they have to walk a country mile just to get to your apartment from the street. There are also no access gates though they told me on 2 occasions that they are looking for someone to install them (yeah right). Also, they have killed evening and overnight uses of the fitness center. The apartment itself has the best layout in West Houston. No other newer construction can really compete with this place on ergonomics, layout, and interior design. It has just been the worst experience of renting that I have ever had. I guess paying more money for rent does not guarantee you a piece of mine. You live and you learn.
