Yo!

Waiting for the "luxury."

When the Marquis folks bought Ironwood, they repainted and cleaned the sidewalks, which was sorely needed. After that, they gave up. We used to have lush, beautiful flower beds that were changed out three times a year. The Marquis people have pulled up all the annuals and replaced them with shrubs. About half the beds are still bare dirt. Today I was informed by the manager that the "owners" have decided just to leave bare dirt in the remaining unplanted beds, including the beds around the pool. The shrubbery is still in terrible shape--half dead, and all the dirt around them is washed away--bare roots showing everywhere. The first thing the new owners did was put up an ugly, black plastic sign at the entrance announcing that this is a "luxury" complex. They also put up snotty signs on the entrance gates announcing that they are not responsible for any damage or injuries. [Other complexes have "welcome home" signs on the gates--so this clearly demonstrates the new management's contemptuous attitude toward residents.] Oh, and P.S., the entrance gates do not work half the time. The wooden fence around the property is rotted and leaning precariously in places. Crime is still a problem--two nights ago the apartment behind me was broken into and items stolen--no warnings to residents yet. They have made snotty written announcements about late rent and trash, which is fine, but nothing is done about ugly, unsightly junk on balconies and patios. I complained no less than six times before anything was done about an apartment that had literally piles of cigarette butts right outside their front door, which was directly across from one of their model apartments. These new owners do not care about this property or the residents--obviously they are in it for the buck, and nothing else. Let me know when the "luxury" happens.
