The response above is right. Although there is new management, it will take a lot to repair all the bad will and poor maintenance that has occurred in the past year. I ,too, will not renew and if there was a way out now I would take it. Don't waste your money. There are many more places that offer better amenities, rates, and service.

Give it a chance. While its true living here was a nightmare when Amanda and JPI were here I can say I've seen more going on and received more information in the first 2 weeks since she was gone than we ever received in the year and a half Amanda & JPI were here. I lived in one of those units on the first floor that flooded and for 9 months Amanda, JPI, and the old owners would do nothing. I relocated to another unit. The new owners also manage the building. This is a rare situation in Houston and definitely a better situation to be in. I feel the place will shape up soon. The pool leak has been fixed so the fitness center and club room are open. The new owners power washed the elevator lobby in the basement garage within three weeks of being here...JPI never washed it in a year and a half. As for the person ranting about the computers: no wonder they say its overpriced here. These days who doesn't own their own computer? If you can't even aford your own computer and internet service than yo more than likely can't afford to live here. Check out the rent on newer cardboard box apartments being built; they are far more expensive and smaller. I, for one, will be staynig now that JPI and their management staff are gone.

The above response is misleading. Not only is there a new staff but there is also a new owner that also manages the property. This is a great situation for renters. The owner has incentive to fix problems. The problems mentioned above were from the previous owners and mangement company...JPI is the worst management company you can find. Thank god they and Amanda are gone. I would n't rent anywhere that had JPI as the management company. The new staff and owners are working hard to rectify the failures of JPI, which isn't easy considering Amanda destroyed all the datbases and most files. The other statements are exagerations...I lived in the only unit to "flood" on the first floor. It didn't flood, the toilet overflowed. The pool leaking was due to Amanda's inability to oversee repairs. The pool no longer leaks since the new owners have fixed it and the club and fitness center are open. As for the computers...come on, if you can't afford to have your own computer and internet service in your apartment you probably don't need to be living here. My rent did not go up when my lease was up. The few complaining about rent increases are the ones Amanda was cutting deals to because they were her friends. I, for one, prefer tolive in a property where eveyone pays the same amount and your rent is not based on whether or not Amanda liked you. Memorial Towers is a good deal money wise and offers a lot to serious and mature renters. Brian and Residential Resource are the best thing to happen here in ages.
