Maintenance is totally incompetent

The apartments are wonderful, unless you have to deal with maintenance. The could care less if you have a problem and it takes weeks of complaining to get anything fixed. It took me 5 weeks to convince the maintence people that the drip in my apartment was a problem and I had to personally meet the head of maintenece to show it to him because he apparently couldn't figure it out on his own, even with specific directions. Then he told me that the solution was to turn off my A/C, which he happily did for me as though the problem was solved. It stopped the drip, but IT LEFT ME WITHOUT A/C. I had to go to the office at the end of the week and literally yell at someone before they finally got someone out to fix it. It took him a whopping 20 minutes.
I also had two other more minor problems in my apartment, but after a few failed attempts with maintence I decided a constant humming noise and handwashing all my dishes was more effective than trying to get them to fix anything.
The apartments are getting older and have occasional problems -- it's not worth rent that high to live in a place that refuses to even attempt fixing things.
I did, however, find the rest of the managment staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Ugh! Being a single female, it's nice to just pick up the phone and have the problem fixed the next day or two when something breaks down by knowledgeable and friendly maintenace-at least at the previous apts I've been at. Sounds like I won't get that at Amli. Good to know. I've had problems with maintenace before at a condo and IT IS A PAIN IN THE ASS TO DEAL WITH! Talk about frustrating! Never again! |
