I was looking into getting into one of the Tower apartments in the next few months or so...but from what I have read, there seems to be almost nothing good about these apartments. Are the views any good at least' The monthly rent did seem a little steep so if the complaints on here are valid then maybe I should keep looking while I still have a chance. The reasons why I like this place were because of the new apliances which look really nice and the views from the Towers. Either way all the other apartments I have checked on have been given a bad rating as well. (Montierra, 3000 Sage, Alexian etc.) Could anyone recommend a good apartmetn'! Thanks. Yes, it really is that bad! I would absolutely not live here if I were you. Just because it's new and pretty does not mean it's a good, well-run, safe place to live. Three cars have had their tires removed from them, there is ZERO security visible, people have had their windows smashed in, last Saturday there was a party with valet parkers and a DJ at the pool and the people didn't even live there and management didn't know about it - and it took 8 HPD officers to break it up...the list just goes on and on. Go to www.apartmentwiz.com and request some information. Specifically ask for Jessica (I'll refrain from including her full name for privacy...but there is only one Jessica and she's great!). The Metropole is lucky is has not been sued for negligence! Go live elsewhere with a nice view and new appliances - trust me - you should find plenty to choose from!

It's not THAT bad. I think the worst part is that for as much as you pay, it's not really worth it. There is nothing "luxury" about it. It is fairly nice. Some things that I would want as "luxury" but the apartment doesn't have are the following: better toilets (they are plastic), quiet washing machine/dryer, quiet dishwasher, bathtub drains that drain, bathtubs that aren't plastic, hallway carpet without stains and rips(mid-rise), better insulation b/t walls, no broken gate. They are simply decent, but you are paying for "luxury". I have had issues with noise and it seems like there is no resolution--since the cop has been on the property, some calls timely if he is around, but the calls must be reoccurring on my part--wish the managers would fine the person to get the noise to stop. The parking is rather terrible too. VERY mediocre. If I pay this much, I expect better. I'm moving out when my lease is up.

Just to correct some of the information stated about. The party on Saturday evening WAS thrown by a Metropole resident and WAS authorized by management. Management states that "the party was authorized, but that details of the party were unauthorized." Basically management states that they could not figure out that a party which included a private dj, valet service, and three tents would amount to a gathering larger than 10-15 women. I am not sure where you are looking to move, but I would live just about anywhere before moving into here!

According to HPD, the previous poster is incorrect. I have spoken with the Houston Police Department about that party last Saturday evening. According to HPD, there was No resident involved in the leasing of the pool area for that horrible party, HPD also said that the pool area was leased some time ago by Greystar's central management to a non-resident (not leased by on-site management). The people who attended that party continued the party beyond 10 pm which violates the rules of this property. This was not only an unfortunate but bad situation for Metropole residents.

Your options for renting a luxury hirise apartment are limited. The prices are likely to be much higher elsewhere, but you certainly can also obtain a luxury experience. It would be a stretch to describe the Metropole as a luxury apartment (poor parking and lack of security make it mediocre, at best. If you want an apartment with a nice view (eg downtown skyline), then you'll be limited to hirises (try searching on har.com). You should also expect to pay $3,500/month or much more. If you want luxury, but not necessarily a view, the price can be much less. All of the alternatives you mentioned were mid-rises. I have concluded through my research and rental experiences to avoid these mid-rise/hi-rise/apt complex situations and pursue a rental from an individual of a privately owned condo, hi-rise apartment, or house. If I knew then (before I signed my lease at the Metropole) what I know now (as I am planning to leave at the end of my lease term), I would NEVER lease at the Metropole. Good luck in your housing search.
