Ok, well I just found this Treasury of anti-Metropole sentiment and I think it would only be fair to give a more even handed review. Clearly many of the people here have had an axe to grind.
I have lived at Metropole for a year now. I live on the first floor in the back of the property and I have to say, I'm a fan. I have long since learned to deal with the fact that I will hear my upstairs neighbor's dog running after a ball at around 9:00pm. It's an apartment, these aren't concrete walls/floors. I am fairly sensitive to things like this, but its just not THAT annoying.
The office staff is nice, they have been getting better and better in my opinion. Brandon and Beth do a pretty good job dealing with a diverse and demanding group of tenants. I have been friendly with the maintenance and garbage collection people, everyone is really very kind. I have never had any trouble getting things fixed. I'm a pretty low maintenance tenant though- I'll wager some of these negative reviews come from some of the extremely prissy people that live here.
Extremely prissy' Yea- I have a dog with genetically messed up front legs. He never leaves my side and is submissive to cats. I was recently grilling in a patio area with him off a leash when a big guy with two LITTLE dogs- my dog came limping and sniffing up and this guy literally had a heart attack, all but screaming. I just laughed at him-
A lot of people here think they are royalty or something. It's kind of comical, but it's the people, not the place.
The rims that have been stolen out of the garage is ridiculous. I once saw 3 cars up on blocks at the same time. It's a prime target though, were so close to 59 and there are SO MANY (more than 20) "whips on rims" in the garage. I have never had anything messed with on any of my cars (I have had 3 in the parking garage) some of which were parked on the top floor without any attention from me for months. So- I guess some people have things stolen, but its not a constant occurrence. I have a hard time believing this happens that much more here than in other places.
The gym is nice and other than PRIME TIME (4:45-7:00) the place is vacant. I use it when I don't feel like going to the gym, its a great option. The machines are top notch, I know one of them has a broken TV... but I don't watch TV while I run.
The coffee machine is awesome, I have extracted a lot of value from that thing. I would say its worth about $100.00 a month to me. Add the pool that's super fun and sexy during the summer and you're in business. Sexy' Yea, are some hotties here. That's all I'm going to say about that... like real hot.
I'm just surprised at the level of hatred that some of these reviews convey. It's really and truly not a bad place to live. For the location, the amenities, the on-call Tahoe, the aesthetics, the expense is almost a value.
Almost. If rent were $1100.00 I would be staying. I am paying $1295.00 just a bit too high for me. I SHOULD be saving some money. But it was a great place to live this last year.

Sounds like you work in the management office. You getting paid for this? I live at the Metropole and though the facilities themselves are very nice, the management office could not be lazier!

Not being paid. I would love to meet up and talk with anyone who thinks I'm a shill. Robopath@hotmail.com we can have a coffee and you can call me a nut job while we take a walk around the Metropole Ghetto. My bet is your probably a pretty nice person in real life, just a part-time internet tough guy.
