Although many reviewers have noted concerns about the property, I escalated an issue to management and got a prompt and attentive response.
I am hopeful that this is indicative of willingness to work proactively with tenants.
I don't want to give up on this property!

I concur. There were quite a few problems, including confusion as to where to even drop off rent, during the transition phase to new management. When our lease was up, we were dismayed to learn our rent was going up. But, when we went in to sign a new lease, our rent did not go up, and they even brought back an 'all utilities paid' option. Plus, the are getting better at fixing problems efficiently. Spraying for bugs is back on a regular schedule. They even had a town hall meeting to address concerns. So, indeed, after a bit of a down period, the management is doing better.
