North Park Crossing Apartments

I moved here from an apartment about a mile away which was very ghetto. When I first moved here I had a good feeling about the place as the neighbors seemed nice, the apartments seemed nice and the area seemed ok. The area either went down hill very quickly or I was just in denial. I had over $1500 worth of stereo equipment that was was stolen from my car and seen numerous other cars get broken in to as well. The thieves were professionals because of the nice work they did breaking in!!!!! Oh and one of the reasons I think it got broken into was because there was no parking and I had to park in the front (guest parking). Lots of people loitering in the parking lot intimidating people coming in. Violent boyfriend/girlfriend fights. One night at the apartments across the street a mother started yelling and beating her son. It started outside, but then when on in the apartment. I could here the blows to the child and the screaming with the door closed across the street. With the robberies and other thing going on it got to the point where I was afraid to go out at night. The police were always there for something. The overall area inside and out had very trashy people to the point of their being prostitutes walking around.
The maintenance people were a joke. The Hispanic guy was ok, but the two black guys were worthless. I ended up doing most of the maintenance myself including cleaning the air coils. The maintenance man could not understand me telling him the a/c was running more than it should. My washer broke the first time I used it and it took them two weeks to get the part and two letters later. Another issue was with the water. It was always out for one reason or the other.
When the neighbors next door would cook the smell of their cooking would come inside my unit very strong. I got rid of most of it by pulling the carpet up and sealing around the base boards. Then the neighbor up stares cigarette smoke was coming through the vents. These problems are common in units where they put the blower inside the drop ceiling in the bathroom. You see when they do that it end up sucking air from between the walls, outside and other units because they did not seal the area up. Basically you end up sharing the same air as everyone in the building. I had some trouble with roaches coming through that vent too.
Oh and they raised my rent $15 a month when my lease was up, but were offering the same unit $40 a month less. No wonder it went down hill so fast. I finally broke my lease and got turned over to a collection agency. I had to pay the reletting fees before I could get another apartment again. Oh well it was worth it to get away from there. Two apartments later I now have a house and will never live in one again. Apartments in general suck and in this price range it is hard to find a nice one because this is also the price range for broke ass trashy people. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this area and Cypress Station. This was once a nice area to live in, but the whole 1960/I-45 area is now ghetto.

I agree with you...when I came here 10-12 years ago it was a mix of people but I can say that the filth had already started creeping in. Sadly it's turned into a real --------. But wherever we move they seem to find us eventually.
