Yo!

Decent apartment but the staff sucks

Apartments: Nice, modern, but definitely cheaply made. The kitchen looks nice and big, but the cabinets are TINY - our plates didn't fit! There's almost no counter space, so if you like cooking good luck. The built in microwave is even smaller and takes 10x longer to cook things. Washer and dryer were nice. Hot water heater was fine, though a bit small if you have 2 people taking showers. I rarely heard noise, although I don't think I had many neighbors. The "pond" is really a drainage basin, but I didn't live there for the pond views. The windows are cheap, so in the afternoon the place heats up FAST.

Parking: Not the best, but tolerable. If you get home after 5pm you have to park kind of far away unless you pay for a covered spot - which is crazy expensive. Several broken down or abandoned cars around the lot.

Trash: Not only do you have to pay extra for trash pickup, but it seems like they only empty the dumpsters once or twice a week, and they're WAY too small for the number of people dumping in them! Trash is ALWAYS overflowing and spilling out into the street. There's even a family of 3 racoons that live in there at night. It's gross.

Gate: Always broken. When it actually works it only works for a few days then breaks again.

Repair staff: Will only do repairs Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm. What kind of hours are those' Anybody who works 8-5 and doesn't like strange people in their apartment when they're not there are screwed.

Front office: Opens late, closes early. Never used the small gym, theater, pool, or internet room.

Staff: Pre March 2005, staff was awesome. Friendly, helpful, etc. Now most of the staff is obnoxious, too busy to deal with current residents (priority is new ones), and only concerned with making $$$ for the complex. The manager isn't helpful with disputes, and is rarely even there. They'll screw you over with your security deposit, too. Get EVERYTHING they say in writing.

Location: Convenient backroad access to/from I45. 1960 is a traffic nightmare, but there are restaurants and a supermarket very close by.

Overall: Not the worst place. If you can get a good deal on rent and are fairly low-maintenance, then it's fine as a short-term apartment. If you tend to deal with front-office staff a lot or want a long-term location, look elsewhere. Like downtown.
