I have lived on The Crossing side for a year and I will not be renewing my lease. I have encountered a number of problems that I dont feel it is fair for me to have to compromise, for example, safety. The day I moved in the guy downstairs told me to be careful and keep an eye out on what's going on because there had been a lot of break ins...He was right. There was at least one a month for months. Also, the gates havent worked properly the ENTIRE time I've lived here. One side and sometimes more are almost always opened. They shouldnt be able to call themselves a gated community when they wont replace the gates. Also, on my move in day, the office had the wrong date for my move in and I had to come back later in the day to move in because they hadn't done their 'final clean'. So, I had to ride around with my belongings all afternoon. It took over a week to get my wall painted the 'accent color' that they forgot about. There is almost always some idiod parked in the handicaped parking space (I dont need it but i think its completely rude). The coulple across the hall are ALWAYS leaving their trash outside of their apartment even after I have called management a dozen times. This tells me that they never did anything. How many charges would it take you to get a clue and take your garbage out' ...Seriously. My dishwasher has been broken for 6 months and I have called two times. Both times they tell me that its not broken. The second time they were here they helped themselves to my television set and hung out while "supervising" the dishwasher while I was at work. Did they check it to see that the wash cycle was working and water was coming out while it was running' No, because if they did they would notice that it was broken. I had to have the thermostat replaced twice. I called 4 times over the course of a month to get a light bulb replaced in my bathroom. They were just in my apartment yesterday (I found out this morning). There wasnt a notice that they would be coming. Finally, they recently put in extra reserved parking places in place of free parking. One night I came home at around 11 and had to park like 4 buildings way because there wasnt free parking...but, in the 6 covered parking areas that I passed on the way to my apartment there was a total of 9 cars in them...and one was completely empty. I called and complained and they told me that someone from management would call me back and no one ever did. I havent had problems with hearing my neighbors and besides, that comes with apartment living usually. But, the noise from Westheimer is terrible with the drag racing and police sirens. Its so annoying. If you want to pay over $800 to live here (and thats just for the small one bedroom apartment) and you are very tolerant, or if all youre planning to pay for is the convience of the beyond ghetto walmart, amc and strip clubs then this is the place for you...Maybe I was just unlucky but I'm getting out in a few weeks.
