We lived here for 19 months and moved out since we wanted to get close to work. And while looking for other apartment ratings on this website, we noticed that nearly all apartments are rated badly. And that includes Old Farm as well. To make it fair, we decided to write up a review of our good experience at Old Farm.
First of all, we never had any issues with management. We had three serious issues and they were promptly taken care of (remember, they are human too and you need to approach them with a smiling face).
On parking, there is enough space. Of course, I do not like their idea of paid covered parking. Yes, if you come in late, you will not get a spot close to your stairs. But, some walking does not harm and there is always parking in abundance. I have been surprised by how people park at all the wrong places to be close to stairs when there is easy parking available 100-200 ft away.
The landscaping in and around the complex is quite impressive. They have paid a lot of attention to that.
The storage area in the patio is very handy. The doors seal very well considering that in humid Houston our stuff in the storage did not get spoilt.
OK, now for the bad things. The walls between neighbors are thin but they are decent between the different levels. Luckily, for us we had only one shared wall and had a good cooperative neighbour.
And, you do hear people coming late into the night with blaring music (I have been woken up by that on some days). There will always be a few crazy people everywhere (specially in Houston I think).
Definitely, not a place if you have kids as some people drive in their cars into the complex quite fast. They need to do something about this.

The landscaping does make this complex appear to be "nice and luxurious!" But the parking is HORRIBLE! If you come home late and live on the Crossing side you WILL NOT find a parking space that isn't someone else's rented covered spot. Which you can be towed from. I am not afraid to walk a distance, but there have been occasions where there are absolutely no spots available. The office is rude and always read to pass you along to the next person. Amber is the worst of all! If you call to tell them the gate is broken AGAIN, they tell youto call resident services and hang up. Laziness! |
