I WOULDN'T LIVE HERE AGAIN IF IT WAS FREE!!!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived on The Reserve side in one of the townhouses with a single garage from July 2006 until July 2007. It seems like a great place to live until you actually move in. There were 5 major problems I had while living there, 4 of which were caused directly by horrible management. I will start with the minor ones first. #5 is the worst.
1. My apartment got broken into and I got robbed of $1,500 worth of stuff. Not much management could've done here. In fact, one of the maintenance guys got the license number of the car that took off from my apartment. However, he couldn't ID the guy so the cops had to let him go. Maintenance had my door replaced within a day and I was satisfied as far as one can be after just being robbed.
2. My air conditioner broke while I was there. Maintenance was pretty good about fixing it. I think it was operational within about 48 hours, but it never did quite cool the way that it used to.
3. My refrigerator also stopped working. I had to call the office no less than 4 times until someone came to fix it 3 days later. They came once to fix it and it still didn't work. I called and told them that they need to fix it again and didn't see anyone for another 2 days. I think I was the guinea pig for refrigerator repair. They ended up getting me a new refrigerator.
4. I bought a house 2 months before the end of my lease. I was using the apartment for storage while I was slowly moving things to my new house. Old Farm had plans to remodel the countertops and cabinets when my lease was up. Somebody didn't schedule things correctly and they ended up having a tenant lined up to move into my place 1 day after my lease was to expire. Since this was not enough time to install new countertops and cabinets, they called me to see if I would let them start the work a few days before the end of my lease. I told them that even though I wasn't completely moved out yet that yes they could go in and start tearing out the countertops. A few days later I went to pick up the last of my things and the apartment had dirt and wires all over the floor (they were also replacing fixtures and ceiling fans), the air conditioner had been set to 50 degrees for 3 days (while I was still paying the bill), and the floors were not even able to be vacuumed since there were building materials and scraps everywhere.
5. This is the kicker. It has no been 8 months since I moved out. When I left, I gave them my forwarding address not once but TWICE. They also have had my cell phone number, which hasn't changed in years. Now it has been 8 months since I moved out and I get a call from a collection agency saying that I OWE Old Farm almost $300!!! I haven't heard a word from them in 8 months! They have my forwarding address and cell phone number and here I am getting a call from a collection agency saying that I owe them money. I never missed a rent payment the entire time I was there, so I don't know how this is possible. I can only think that maybe they charged me for cleaning, even though they were the ones who trashed my place. I have been trying to call them for the last 6 hours and all I can get is their answering service. If you move in there, don't expect to ever be able to get through to them on the phone. If you want to talk to them, you will have to physically go to their office. Even if you leave a message with the answering service, you will never get a call back.
Do you still want to live there'
UPDATE on 3/19/2008: I was able to reason with the manager and she canceled my alleged debt to Old Farm. They also called the collection agency to withdraw their case against me. I can say that they were very understanding and cooperative after a few phone calls so I will give Old Farm the benefit of the doubt and assume that their management is improving. However, my original review still stands. If I had to do it over again I still would not live there because there were just too many issues that I never had at other apartments in the past.
