Rude leasing agents

This is a pretty nice apartment complex for the money, but its stupid to start raising rent because of electrical usage. My apartment gets so hot, i live upstairs and I blow the air conditioning all day because it never cools off during these HOT summer months. My next point, if you don't have to deal with Sherry in the office consider yourself lucky. She is so rude and self-involved. You can't get a smile out of her on ANY day. I know her personility doesn't affect me that much. But, sometimes you have to come into contact with her and she is plain rude! Most of the time she is pretending to work so she won't have to answer your question. So, i would suggest waiting for Joei (the other lady) to talk with. Joei has always been so nice and understanding with me. BUT, before you condsider moving here. YOUR NEIGHBORS ARE CRAZY. I haven't come into contact with ONE normal neighbor. They are all old. Some talk far too long to you, others ask for money, pain pills, and car rides to get more smokes. I have even had some of the crazy old lady give advice when they dont know what they are talking about nor do they really know me. If you keep from talking to or befriending any neighbors, this is a great place to live. I do plan on moving when my lease is up because of the crazy neighbors!

Being crazy is a plus in my book. I am! Being serious and "sane" is hazardous for your health and crazier than being crazy. This is a 55 apartment complex. It is advertised as such. I am 61. If the writer is young, as seems to be the case, he/she could not reasonably expect a young crowd to socialize with.
The clubhouse facilities and social events are a bad joke. However, even the nicest places with extensive facilities are seldom used. The only down side from my perspective is the social director, who although a friendly very nice person, has a prison guard, holy roller evangelist streak that is overly evident at social events. I avoid social events for that reason. That said, most folks here do enjoy the social offerings.
No PS employee has ever been rude to me in person. What they do behind my back is a matter of no consequence. The criticism of Cherry is unwarranted. She has a professional demeanor. She is a rental agent not a stand up comic, cruise director, or personal psychologist.
Maintenance has declined and the grounds are not as nicely kept this year. The latter is due to the lousy, probably cheaper, landscaping company hired this year. Exterior- street presence - maintenance is has the highest priority. The nominally lower rent, however, is reflective of the well-worn apartment interiors. Age takes a toll that is not cheaply reversed.
PS like many places seeks to increase the bottom line by reducing maintenance costs to the extent possible. It is a short-term gain at a long-term loss, assuming they want to continue renting apartments versus selling the place or knocking it down for other construction purposes.
Air conditioning is a top priority at PS. In my experience malfunctioning air conditioners are attended to promptly.
If money is an issue this is a good place to call home. If it is not, newer apartments, costing $100 a month more, are obviously much nicer. If one is young, 55 apartments are not a good place to rent, if one expects to socialize with young people.
