It was 'okay' From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 9/6/2006 Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006 1 response   I lived there for 1 year 2004-2005. I have a couple of complaints but I'll get to those. The property is beautiful. The complex is only 4 years old so the buildings are still pretty and feel like new. Landscaping is nice and the maintenance staff is prompt. The office employees were always very friendly and even helped us cheat a little bit so we could get a lower rate! Floorplans are freakin' awesome. Now for the MAJOR complaint: Crime. When we first moved in it was pretty quiet, but things got progressively worse. I am a daysleeper so one night I was sitting up and kept hearing loud banging from the apartment next door. (Our neighbors were young "frat-types" so I figured they were just drunk and making noise.) The next morning I stepped outside to find that someone had taken a crowbar to their front door in an attempt to break in. That explains the noise. Soon after I had a woman arrested for breaking into another neighbors window in the middle of the night. The final straw was a BIG STRAW. Again, I'm a daysleeper. So one morning at about 11 a.m. I woke up to a deafening sound. I assumed it was really bad thunder and a storm was rolling in so I went back to bed. When I woke up I turned on the 5 o'clock news only to hear that a man had been shot to death and car-jacked at 11 a.m. at the carwash that is directly next door to the complex. The thunderous noises I had heard were the gunshots that murdered someone. I looked out my window and saw all of the news vans and cop cars at the carwash. It was a sad and eery feeling so we decided to move to a safer location.
