Repeated problems with fire alarm not great. Also any problems that occurred during weekends took a while to fix. Move out was a pain, make sure you photocopy your move out sheet. Staff often rude at the end of my lease, though they were nice when we first moved in. Had a bike stolen, but no other problems with crime.
The real problems started after move out. We cleaned our apartment carefully, and were told by a management employee that everything was fine and we'd be getting our security deposit back.
Three months later I received a letter from a collection company. PMD had charged us for cleaning/replacing a portion of the carpet, had not taken down the new address we had given them on the move out sheet and had been sending notices for payment to the apartment we had moved out of. Any attempt to find out why this happened was met with a "you'll have to deal with the collection agency" response. In the end I paid the charge, so that it was taken off my credit report, only to find later that the item is still listed on my credit report as unpaid, a fact I find to be intolerable.
I would double, even triple, the caution that you should document everything with these people, else you risk having a multitude of problems later.
