For all of those who went on this website to talk bad about the management, I hope you all learned to appreciate the manager, as well as life itself. I would think twice before insulting someone because tomorrow they may not be there for you to push down. May God be with her, and her family in these hard times.

First, let me please say that my heart goes out to the Manager's family, her staff and her Management Company. I could never, ever imagine this happening. I am a Apartment Manager in the Clear Lake area and I just can not believe this. This is a very scary situation as we deal with numerous kinds of people in our office/apartments and you just never know what will happen. People just do not understand what we deal with on a day to day basis. I always look at this website and when I read bad responses from angry residents, it makes me very mad. We are not only the Property Manager, running multi-million assets for the owners, but we are also people's friends, families and psychiatrists. We go through so much running a office at a apartment community.....people do not know and/or understand. The residents that say bad things about us and/or yell at us are usually people that do not pay their rent, owe us money or we have major problems with; meaning....loud noise issues, bothering other residents etc.
I really hope all of the staff will be alright. If this web-site was not so harsh on Management, at any Property/Rating, I would leave my personal information for someone to contact me if they needed to talk. Obviously, I can not do that, but feel free to leave your info., and I will be more than happy to contact you.
God Bless and I wish you all well. RESIDENTS: Please take care of the staff there as they need are always there for you.
Sincerely, A Propery Manager in the Area

I am also a manager in the area. We have all dealt with difficult customers, and sometimes they have scared us. I am deeply saddened for all of the families, employees and residents involved. To the residents at Post Oak: your community is a beautiful one managed by an excellent company that I know takes extreme care as most of us do to screen our residents and to keep the community a nice place to live for all. In fact, it seems that the manager was taking action to remove a resident that was causing a problem for neighbors that lead to her murder. Unfortunately, just like the young man in Virginia last week, no one can really know when a person is going to lose it and end up killing someone. Let us all remember that the vast majority of us in this world, including property managers, fellow residents and neighbors, are good people who want to do the right thing by others. Please keep this in the forefront of your minds along with your thoughts and prayers.

A brief response from a resident in 77057. Firstly, I'm shocked and saddened by yesterday's news from Post Oak. Secondly, it seems appropriate to add some words of support to the many dedicated managers and staff at Houston's apartment complexes, who generally do a wonderful job, day after day, and probably hear of 99% of the complaints but 1% of the good experiences. My neighbours and myself have had nothing but good experiences. This tragic incident doesn't represent a daily risk, merely a one-in-a-million occurence from a deeply troubled individual. On behalf of the majority who truly appreciate your efforts, thank you.

I am also a property manager in West Houston and this is such a tragic incident. Unfortunately, this is something we all worry about a one time or another. My heart goes out to her staff and family. Other managers, please take the time to get with your staff and have an emergency response plan for the future. I worry that this may only give other disgruntled residents ideas. God bless the manager, her staff, her residents and most importantly, her family.
