Definitely shouldn't be considered luxury but I still like them. I mean, unless you leased your apartment before seeing it you shouldn't be surprised by the lack of luxury.
Please note, some lofts look much better than others. The first loft I was shown was so awful I almost left the building never to return. I literally said "I don't think I wanna live here." The leasing consultant insisted on showing me others and I quickly fell in love with the place and realized that each loft is different. Although not luxurious, some have such great character that you can overlook the lack of luxury.
Whenever you seek something that looks like a true loft it shouldn't be luxurious anyway. A real loft has a rugged look. However, I must admit I did expect a little higher quality in appliances and cabinetry.
The staff brags about the fact that all the lofts were remodeled in 1998. I always wonder if they realize that was 7 years ago.
Anyway, although not luxurious, the exposed brick walls, my gorgeous view, and the steel beams make up for that. I've heard of some of the lofts having hazardous wood floors but mine does not. I you plan to move here you just have to be picky and patient I guess. Let the leasing consultant know what you will and wont have. I was very specific and I am very happy with my selection.
I'm almost positive the parking garage is the worst ever constructed.
I completely disagree with the statement that the building is snobbish. Honestly, I expected it to be but it is far from so. Every time I get on the elevator residents strike up a conversation.....whenever I walk by people say hello or give me a big smile.
If you're thinking of moving here you should at least give Post Rice a try. There's a 30 day guarantee so if you decide you don't like it, you can move...no harm done and you never wonder "what if" each time you drive downtown! odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG
