To report dangerous building such as apartments or homes call the city of Houston housing code division at 713-218-5500. 713-837-0311 You may report rats to this number as well.

Includes but not limited to.......

ex. Pool water discoloration

ex. falling fixtures

ex. unsafe playground


A inspector will come out, and investigate the inside of your apartment if you currently live in the apartment complex.


If you do not live in the complex you can report to nieghborhood protection regarding the outside of buildings...eyesores

water bill dispute?
After pointing out these rules to your landlord, if he doesn't change his billing practices within 30 days, you should write a letter which describes your situation in detail, and send it to TCEQ, Outreach & Information Assistance Team, Water Information & Assistance Section, MC-141, P. O. Box 13087, Austin, Texas 78711-3087. They will help you resolve the billing dispute
