My friend and I filled out an application over a month ago and have since decided that there are better and less expensive places to live than Providence. We never received a call saying we were approved or denied for the apartment. We had to call ourselves every week to find out the status. Management and the staff are not interested in customer service at all. I am out several hundred dollars because they require a ridiculous deposit when applying. We are going to live down the street in an apartment that is just as nice and $200 dollars cheaper a month. Providence was our first choice and appeared to be a sure bet; however, if we were fed up with the place before we even moved in, what does that say about what you are paying for' I also performed a calls for service request through the HPD and discovered that there were a number of car break-ins in the past few months...this coming from a place where the garage is suppposed to stay closed all the time.

If you don't mind me asking, which apartment complex did you end up choosing at a better price? Thanks :)

Sorry for the delay...(I'm not on this site very often). We actaully moved into the Kirby Place Apartments which are right across the street from Providence. It will be 7 months at the end of April and we have loved it there so far. Sure there are the usual maintenance issues, but overall, we are happy with our second choice. And we got a better rate because we waited until the end of August when they were trying to fill the last of their vacant apartments. Good luck in your apartment-hunting if you haven't alreay found one! Hope this helped a little!

I was actually considering Kirby Place, but a friend of mine who lives there has been robbed three times and suspects the maintenance staff... I moved to Providence at Kirby and have enjoyed my time thus far, though Kirby Place is very comparable in quality for a slightly lower price.

After 7 days you can assume you've been denied and they should give you back your deposit after thirty if that's teh case. You can try suing for your money back.
