overall nice place to live

I've lived in the complex for almost a year and there could be some improvements. Like when you ask maintenence to replace lightbulbs in closets, etc. they tend to forget the areas you requested. They also are not quick to change out dead batteries in your smoke detectors at your request either. They tell you to call maintenence for those such things that never get done right. The staff is friendly when you first meet them and then it's like they don't want to hear you complain about anything they already know about. There was an incident recently involving one of the pool lights (in the acual pool) floating in the water by it's wire that did not get fixed for AT LEAST a week and people were still swimming in the pool. You would think when they show apartments as often as they do that they would notice something like that and have it taken care of asap, right' They're always sending out letters telling you what to do but when you notice something wrong with them, they become friggin' snobs. It's in the Jersey Village area which is nice and right next to the beltway (not too noisy). The pool is 10 to 10 but somehow people get into the pool at 1am and won't shut the hell up while the rest of us working folk try to sleep. They never replace the doggie bags (for poop) so naturally there will be "piles" everywhere. There are still some people who don't keep their dog on a leash and let them run around because I guess their so well trained that they're exempt from the rules. The entry gate is ALMOST ALWAYS BROKEN. Of course you can't get away from crime but it's not too bad there. If you don't leave valuables in your car and blast your radio then chances are you won't get picked to be a victim. There are ways you can prevent (NOT STOP) crime from happening. This place really needs to add a little more lighting though. In the past couple of months there have been police officers that stop by several times a night as well as someone "under cover" watching the complex in a regular car. They sure do like to spend money on flowers too. Maybe that's why the rent is kinda high' I guess you could say they're luxury apartments so we'll go with that reason. Inside is very nice. There are 10 ft ceilings, washer/dryer connections (you can rent some from them), crown molding, tile, carpet, and laminate flooring. The rooms are a pretty good size as far as living space. You can't hear your neighbors upstairs (from ground floor) except once in a while you might hear some plumbing noises but it's bearable. They try to keep the grounds neat and groomed all the time which is nice, and the dumpster has only been overfilled once since I've been there. The fitness room is ok. They could use new cardio machines because the ones they have are kinda out-dated and starting to make funny noises. They have an inside laundry room which is nice in the summertime if you need to use it. Everywhere you go something will be right with someone and wrong with another. This is an overall nice place to live ")
